Windows 8, Microsoft’s latest installment, has been suffering terrible sales since its release. In response, Microsoft is dropping the price of Windows to manufactures from $120 to just $30 – meaning all Windows laptops should go down in price by around $90. Furthermore, a new version of Windows is expected in August, which will render Windows 8 old news – driving prices down further. The poor demand has been keeping laptop prices low for some time now, as manufacturers struggle to shift stock.
