Homemade Hot Sauce
If you have any farmers markets in your area, and see some good prices on hot peppers, it’s really easy to make your own fresh hot sauce. I suppose it’s a little cheaper than buying the bottled stuff in the store too, and the color is way more vibrant.
All you need to do is throw a pound of hot peppers (i usually use fresno peppers or cayenne peppers) into a pressure cooker along with a cup of cider vinegar, two teaspoons of sea salt and a few splashes of hickory liquid smoke. Pressure cook it for 3 minutes. Then throw it all into a blender with a few cloves of fresh garlic and puree it all. Pour it through a fine mesh strainer and that’s it!
